Imphal, the 26th May, 2017 (DIPR): Free Counseling and Awareness Programme for admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Program for north east students was held today at IBSD (Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development) Campus, Takyelpat Imphal.

                The Governor Dr. Najma A Heptulla and Director, IBSD Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo graced the  inaugural function of the Free Counseling and Awareness Programme as Chief Guest and President respectively.

                While delivering her speech, the Governor said that the State has many universities like Agricultural University, Cultural University, Technical University, Manipur University, even Sports University (going to come up), other institutions etc. Students from outside can come here, see the State and learn a lot since the State is very much rich in culture, customs, flora and fauna. If not, students can have exchange programmes and will benefit for national integration which is very much necessary in today’s generation. The Governor also lauded the effort of IBSD for organizing free counseling and awareness programme particularly for young students.

                Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo stated that at the time of admission, students and parents from north east face many problems. As the admission time comes, they will go out from here for further study. Before they leave the State, both the students and parents should know some of dos and don’ts. That is the reason behind organizing the free and counseling programme, Prof. added.

                As part of the inaugural programme, resource persons-----Principal Miranda College (DU) Dr. Pratibha Jolly; Principal Sri Venkateswara College (DU) Dr. P. Hemalatha Reddy; Prof. Dr. Aditya Narayan Mishra (Sri Aurobindo college, DU); Dr. Prakask Narayan (DU); Dr. M. Arunjit Singh, Kalindi College DU and Dr. M. Ojit singh, Ramjas College DU were felicitated with mementoes.  (DIPR)
