Imphal, June 30 (DIPR): Eminent Thinker, Author, India Foundation Director and BJP National General Secretary Shri Ram Madhav inaugurated Tourist Resort at Sendra Hillock in the presence of Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh and many other dignitaries today. 

    Shri N. Biren Singh, Shri Ram Madhav and Works and Information and Public Relations Minister Shri Th. Biswajit graced the auspicious occasion as chief guest, special guest and president respectively. 
    Minister Shri V. Hangkhanlian, Chief Whip and Advisor to CM (Economic Affairs and Human Resource) Shri P. Saratchandra, Thanga AC MLA and PDA Chairman Shri T. Robindro, Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman L Radhakishore,Parliamentary Secretaries ShriAwangbowNewmai, Shri K Robindro and Dr. S. Ranjan, S. Subhaschandra, Kumbi MLA Shri S. Bira and Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA) Vice-Chairman Shri M Asnikumar also attended the function as presidium members. 

    The Resort has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 553.72 lakhs with the funds from Union Tourism Ministry. Components of the project are Reception cum Administrative Block, Cottages, Security cum Drivers’ Room, Compound Fencing with Gate, Restaurant, Approach Road and Pathways. 

    Addressing the gathering, Shri N. Biren said that a Grievance Cell will be opened at CM’s Secretariat soon. Call executives would attend the calls of people from 10am to 6pm daily. 
    Stating that the new Government had achieved almost all the tasks listed in its 100 days programme, the Chief Minister said that the Government is committed to uplifting the poorest of the poor section of the society. He urged the people to assess the works of the Government achieved in 100 days and give suggestions. 

    Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ram Madhav mentioned about the tourism potentials of the State. 
    Stating that the new Government had achieved a lot in 100 days, Shri Ram Madhav said that it is however still have to work hard towards making Manipur a peaceful, prosperous and united State. (DIPR)



    Imphal; June 28, 2017 (DIPR): As a part of the 100 days’ achievements of the new BJP-led government in the state, Minister, Tribal Affairs & Hills Shri N. Kayisii today inaugurated two primary schools in Senapati District.

                Makeng Cheijinba Primary School, which is located at Makeng Cheijinba Village, a Thangal village in Senapati District under Tadubi Assembly Constituency, was inaugurated by N. Kayisii in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Shri Athem Muivah, IAS and Zonal Education Officer, Senapati Shri Xavier Longmei, MES, who were present in the inauguration function as Guests of Honour.

                Speaking on the occasion, TD Minister stated that the Makeng Cheijinba Primary School is being inaugurated today as a part of the achievements of the new NDA Government led by Chief Minister Shri Biren Singh in its first 100 days in office. The minister further stated that with the setting up of this primary school, children of Makeng Cheijinba village will get the opportunity to learn basic formal education within their village. Kayisii added that children should be moulded right from the primary level and the teachers should put in their best effort to provide quality education to the students. The TD Minister expressed his view that the tribal people are brilliant despite the fact that they are not able to get quality education from the primary level. He however stated that even the present government can’t bring any development without the support and co-operation of the people.

                Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Shri Athem Muivah stated that being a teacher is a sacred and noble profession which require high moral. He added that primary school is the foundation where one could get the essence of true education. Hence the people, particularly the parents, should take full responsibility to mould their children right from the primary level. He appealed the people to co-operate with the government and not to depend solely on the initiatives of the government.

                Later in the afternoon, the TD Minister N. Kayisii inaugurated the Khongnem Thana Primary School in Senapati District, which falls under Karong Assembly Constituency.           

                Appreciating the support and co-operation of the villagers to the initiative of the new government, the TD Minister stated that Khongnem Thana is one of the oldest villages in Senapati District, which has existed since the British period. The villagers should love this unique village and should take responsibility to develop this beautiful village. He assured that he will provide whatever he can from his side and also from the side of the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills.

                The new BJP-led government has completed its 100 days on the midnight of 24th June, 2017. In the last 100 days, the government has taken up various development initiatives which will be further highlighted within this month. (DIPR)




    IMPHAL, JUNE 28, 2017 (DIPR): Uninterrupted power supply is necessary in industrialisation of a society, said Power Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh after inaugurating a 132/33 KV Sub-Station at Elangkhangpokpi today. Minister Biswajit inaugurated 132/33 KV Sub-Stations at Chandel and Elangkhangpokpi today in the presence of IFC and Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Shri Letpao Haokip, MANIDCO & MANITRON Chairman Shri Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Kakching MLA Shri Y. Surchandra Singh, Kumbi MLA Shri S Bira Singh and Chief Secretary Shri O Nabakishore Singh.

    Addressing the formal inaugural function at the Elangkhangpokpi Power Sub Station, the Power Minister stressed on the importance of the Power department and said the department helps in lighting up the darkness.

    He said that, it is the government's objective to provide electricity to all villages of the State by December 2018. We have identified the remaining unelectrified villages, he said adding that, the government is committed to provide electricity to all villages.

    Minister Biswajit also said that there are also plans to install 11 more sub-stations including at Chingai in Ukhrul district, Oinam in Senapati, Molnom in Churachadpur, Somdal, Somdal, Sankeithel in Ukhrul, Tamenglong Headquarter, Akampat, etc. He continued there is also a plan to build a logistic park in Koutruk. Explaining the need to install a sub-station at Akampat, the Minister said it will help in the plan to construct a sports complex for Imphal East at Akampat.

    Lauding the Manipur State Power Company Ltd for the timely completion of installation of the power sub-station at Elangkhangpokpi, Minister Biswajit also said that, the project for installation of the power sub-station was awarded in November 2015. He also assured the officials of the MSPCL that as long as he remains the Power Minister, the State government will not abandon them and that the government will continue to work together with them.

    Minister Biswajit also spoke on the present government's 100-day programme and said people must have wondered whether the present BJP led government was trying to highlight projects initiated by the previous government as their achievements by inaugurating such projects under their 100-day programme. He said this was not the case, but the new government has brought new hopes for the people and is only trying to fulfil the public's aspirations.

    He further stressed there were previous governments and that new governments will come, however, the main target of the present government led by the BJP is welfare of the people.

                Stressing on the importance of the two sub-stations inaugurated today, the Minister said sufficient and quality power supply to Chandel and its surrounding areas was unable earlier, as power was supplied through 25 km long transmission lines from Kakching. He continued power supply would improve immensely in the area from today.

                He asserted a government has to work efficiently for people's welfare, while people should honour the government and understand there is a law under the government. This will bring development in the society.

    Minister Biswajit also spoke on the trust deficit in the society and said the present government is working towards bridging the gap and bring unity in the society. The Minister also released a booklet on 100-days programme of MSPDCL during the inaugural function.

    Earlier in the day after inaugurating the power sub-station at Chandel, Minister Biswajit had also participated in brief meeting with at Chandel. (DIPR)




    IMPHAL, JUNE 28, 2017 (DIPR): Shri Shyamkumar, Minister of MAHUD, Town Planning, Forests & Environment and Horticulture & Soil Conservation today felicitated meritorious students of Andro Assembly Constituency at the 11th Meritorious Award ceremony held as part of the ongoing 10th State Level Pineapple Festival cum Buyers & Sellers Meet & Youth Festival, 2017 at Thambalnu Market Complex, Poiroupat, Lamkhai, Andro.

    All together 479 students who secured first division in the Class X and XII exam conducted by the State Board and CBSE were felicitated today with cash reward and citation, including three State toppers. The felicitation programme was organised by the Development Organisation Andro Kendra (DOAK).

    Minister Shyamkumar also felicitated Manipuri scientist Dr. Guneshwar Thangjam with cash reward and citation as a token of appreciation after an asteroid was named after him by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) ) in a conference “Asteroids, Planets and Meteors, 2017” held at South America. He is working at the Department of Planets and Comets, Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Gottingen, Germany. Dr. Guneshwar Thangjam was born in Poiroukhongjin, Yairipok, Andro A/C.

    Speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, Minister Shyamkumar said many educational institutions in the Andro A/C are presently being developed with the help of Central Government funds. Narrating the success story of Azad Higher Secondary School, Shyamkumar was hopeful that Class XII students of the constituency can someday come in the list of Top 10 rankings.    

    Minister Shyamkumar lauded Dr. Guneshwar Thangjam for bringing laurels for the country and the State. Stating that he is proud of his success, Shyamkumar said hard work and patience of Dr. Guneshwar led to his achievement.

    IMPHAL, JUNE 28, 2017 (DIPR): With the timely intervention by the Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen, agitation by students of Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat was immediately called off today.

    The Minister attends to the grievances of the students at her office chamber, New Secretariat, Imphal in the presence of the students’ representatives of the school, Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) Shri JC Ramthanga, officials of the department, Principal and staff of the school.

    Some of their grievances include construction of new toilets, proper infrastructure, furniture and water reservoir with clean drinking water. She assured all their demands will be taken care of immediately and gave minimum time of one month to fulfil their grievances. For time being, she assured the demands for two separate toilets for boys and girls will starts with the construction of low cost toilet by tomorrow itself. Supplies of electricity was immediately resolved today itself by Joint Director (Social Welfare), Smt Surrender A Shishak by paying the electric bills of Rs.10,000 from her own pocket.

    Nemcha welcomes the genuine grievances of the students anytime before her and appeal the students to go hand in hand with their teachers by giving them utmost respect; only then everything can be sorted out. There is nothing in this world that cannot be sorted out through proper communication and interaction, she added.

    During the interaction with the Minister, the students’ representatives expressed that their agitation was towards the school authority for not taking up their grievances to the concerned authority and higher officials at the right time. The students expressed gratitude towards Minister Nemcha for ardently listening to them and for timely intervention of their needs.




    IMPHAL, JUNE 28, 2017 (DIPR): Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen strongly condemned the brutal killing of Letkholal Haokip alias Palal, President, Haokip Students’ Organisation (HSO).

    The Minister personally met the family members of the deceased students’ leader today at RIMS morgue and expressed condolence on such inhuman act meted out to the leader, (L) Letkholal Haokip on that fateful night. She empathized the pain the family is presently going through with the loss of their dear one and expressed his demise as a great loss to the society.

    It may be recalled that the incident happened on the night of 23rd June at around 7 pm. Palal was shot to death from point blank range inside his vehicle in front of his residence at Langol Game Village, Imphal. (DIPR)






    Imphal, 28th June, 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam Singh inaugurated the Bishnulal High School of Kangpokpi District today. In addition to the existing infrastructures, the high school has eight (8) more new rooms, which includes a computer room and a library. The school was constructed under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) 2015-16.

                The Minister while speaking as chief guest said the government schools in the state for best functioning needs the support of not only teachers and students but also of the parents, guardians and local people. Expressing his concern, he said, it is discouraging that today school properties are being rob and vandalised during agitation and in many of the unfortunate incidents.

    He further stated that school is a sacred place like any places of worshipping where one goes to offer their gratitude to God. He explained school is where the children comes to get education, to be cultured and to be able to become a better human on whose shoulder lies the future. Government schools of the state though lack in certain infrastructure, he said, true leaders are those who bring the best out of the available resources.

                Director Education (S) Shri Th. Kirankumar said the essentiality of classroom being fulfilled, the task now lies on the shoulders of the teachers to accept and take the school on the right direction to fulfill every child’s right to education.

                Deputy Secretary Education (S) & Additional State Project Director RMSA, Manipur L. Nandakumar Singh said, as the requirement for extra classrooms in the school has been fulfilled the teachers of the school needs to find out drop-out children in and around the locality of the school. It is very necessary that those children be brought back to schools, get them back their normal life and provide them a secure future, he added.

    Imphal, 28t June 2017 (DIPR:  Power Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit has stated that the whole state including remote areas will be electrified within 2018. He was speaking on the launching ceremony of “Ujala (Unnat Jeevan by Affordable LEDs and Appliances) Yojana” under 1OO days programme of the government, which was held today at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal. Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited and Energy Efficiency Service Limited jointly organized the launching function.

    Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, the minister said that ‘Ujala Yojana’ is a good scheme initiated by the Central Government in 2015. He also said that the scheme will help the state‘s consumers to save energy and income, while also benefitting the environment by reducing emission of greenhouse gases.

    The Minister further stated that Ujala Scheme will benefit the masses and this scheme will be implemented in all district of the state. He elaborated that the government’s mission is bridging the gap between hill and valley. Bringing development in both hill and valley is the first step toward restoring peace in the state.

                Shri Th Biswajit said that 37 % of power is wasted due to technical and used of naked wire. Power department will replace naked wire with AV cable wire to control wastage of power and within 2018, whole Manipur will be electrified.

    Minister also seeks people’s cooperation for successful implementation of the Ujala Yojana Scheme. He also appealed to Energy Efficiency Service Limited to provide quality products so that consumers do not have any complaint in the future.

    The launching function was attended by Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board and Khadi and Village Industry Board Shri L. Radhakishore, Parliamentary Secretary (PHE, Printing and Stationary, Horticulture & Soil Conservation) Shri K. Leishiyo and Chief Secretary, Manipur Shri o. Nabakishore Singh as President and Guests of Honour respectively.

    Most of the speakers on the dais told about the benefit of the Ujala Yojana Scheme in terms of economy, energy, environment etc. and appealed to consumers for availing its benefit.

    Ujala Yojana aims to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps in preserving the environment. The implementing agency, Energy Efficiency Service Limited is targeting to distribute over 10 lakhs LED bulbs and 2 lakhs LED tubelights. Ujala Yojana would be able to make annual energy savings of 14 crore kilowatt. The annual savings in consumer electricity bills would be more than Rs 55 crores  and the use of Ujala appliances will also result in reduction of 30 megawatt of peak demand, as well as an annual reduction of carbon dioxide emission by 1,12,000 tones.

    In the first phase, Energy Efficiency Service Limited along with Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited is going to distribute 80,000 LED bulbs and 20,000 Tube Lights.

                Under the Ujala scheme, consumers can buy quality 9 w LED bulbs at Rs 70 and 20 w LED tube lights at Rs 230 respectively. And each Household in the state is eligible for purchasing  of Six  9w LED bulbs and two 20 w LED tube lights by providing a government recognized photo ID proof along with the electricity bill . In the first phase, these appliances will be available at four-subdivision Of MSPDCL i.e IED I/II/III/IV. (DIPR)






    Imphal, June 27, 2017 (DIPR): Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh inaugurated the Court of Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) for crimes against women at Court Complex, Lamphelpat today.

    Smt. A. Noutuneshwori Devi, MJS Grade-I, has been appointed as the Judge of the newly established Court.

                Speaking on the inauguration function, organised by Law and Legislative Affairs Department as the chief guest, the Chief Minister urged the Judiciary to introduce a mechanism so that the persons who have committed heinous crimes do not get bail easily.

                He observed that sincerity, transparency and co-ordination on the part of all the stakeholders are must to make the fast track Court effective and efficient.

                The Chief Minister informed that a Grievance Cell having Call Centre facility would be set up soon at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to attend to the complaints and grievances of the general public.

                Stressing the need for having a Judicial Academy for the State, he stated that the State Government would take up necessary steps in this regard as soon as possible.

                Maintaining that the new State Government is putting in all possible efforts to fulfil people’s wishes in a systematic manner, Shri N. Biren said that the elected leaders, who are part of the new Government, had taken a pledge to end the old culture of politics.

                Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar while speaking as the functional president said that the State Government is also planning to introduce a fast track Court for juvenile related cases as well.

                The Minister also assured that suggestions from the Judges, Advocates and general public to bring a change to the Judicial system of the State would be acknowledged by the Government.

                PHED Minister Shri Losii Dikho, Judges of High Court of Manipur, Hon’ble Justice N. Kotiswar and Hon’ble Justice Kh. Nobin and Advocate General Shri N. Kumarjit also attended the function as guests of honour.

    Imphal, June 27, 2017 (DIPR): The government is committed to bring a change in the system and that change should begin within ourselves. This was stated by Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh at the launching function of providing free Wi-Fi in different parts of Imphal, Jeevan Praman scheme and two Advanced Ambulance, which is a part of the 100 days programme, held at JNIMS Conference Hall, Imphal today.

    Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister asserted that the sole objective of the new government is to serve the people to its fullest extent and is ready to work with challenge for the upliftment of the society. Sharing happiness on launching the Jeevan Pramaan scheme by the IT department, he said that now the pensioners do not need to stand in long queue in front of the banks to get their monthly pension. He stressed that Jeevan Pramaan will do away with the requirement of a pensioner having to submit a physical life certificate every six months and their pension money would be credited into their bank account on time. The government is planning to provide door step pension delivery system to the old aged people of the State soon, he added.

    Chief Minister mentioned that the service of the advanced ambulance would benefit the needy or poor people living both in hills and valley of the State. He further said that the government is in the process of providing such kind of ambulance in all the district hospitals of the State so that medical services could reach to the periphery or remote areas of the State.

    Hailing the Food Safety Department, Shri N. Biren said that within these 100 days, the actions taken up by the Department is remarkable by conducting massive drive against expired or adulterated food products in the market. He further appealed the Food Safety Department to continue such drive in future too.

    Stating that proper maintenance is needed for the ambulances, Chief Minister said that people need to think the public properties as their own property. He further said that the progress of human civilization is needed to bring development in the State.

                People can access the free Wi-Fi in JNIMS complex, Old and New Secretariat, Thangal Bazaar and Paona Bazaar with a data limit of 300 MB per user per day.

    During the function, Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh also released the booklets of the activities and achievements made during the 100 days by the Directorate of Health and national Health Mission and Department of Information Technology.
